Jim Elliot was a missionary who was murdered
along with four missionary colleagues in South America in 1954.
One of the wise things that Jim wrote was this: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep
to keep what he cannot lose.”
How much we treasure what we cannot keep - worldly or material things. And how little we value what we cannot lose -
eternal things.
It is all a matter of priorities, spiritual
priorities.
