The Battle is the Lord's!

The conflict we are in is the Lord’s; we are in His service, fighting the Lord’s battles; the battle is the Lord's ultimately, not ours.  That elevates it to an altogether higher level; and it lifts our minds and hearts to the true focal point, and raises the entire situation to a different plane altogether.  We do not only wrestle against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against powers, against spiritual wickedness in high places, etc.  The devil shoots his "fiery darts" at us in order to shock us, and hurt us, ultimately to destroy us.

That's why we must put on the whole armour of God, the armour that God has provided for us.  He knew what we were/are facing each day, and he hasn't left us without proper support and defense.  We, if we are taking our faith seriously at all, are being targeted by satan in a bid to drive us into sin; and if he does not succeed in that, to then get the backs of Christians against them.  He will stop at nothing to get at us.  He is extremely clever and highly intelligent, being the chief of God's angels while in heaven before he and his minions fell in sinful rebellion against the Majesty of God.

But do not dismiss him, and certainly do not view him as a figment of your imagination.  He is real, a person, and very smart.  But he is a creature.  He has been defeated during Christ's life and ministry, at Calvary, and also on resurrection morning.  He is a defeated foe, an enemy who has lost the war.  His eternal place is in the bottomless pit with the beast and the false prophet.  He can do so much, but he can only operate under God's permission, and as far as God allows him.  We can laugh at him, but not treat him as a joke.  We can expose him, and claim the precious blood for our protection.  "If God is for us, who can be against us?"  What a question!  And we know the answer.
